Lavinia was very considerate and kind. My mother and I had a really bad cough so we weren’t able to attend the experience last minute. After the sushi making session was over Lavinia was kind enough to let us come by and pick up some sushi. With a mask of course. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. She even included honey and tea for our throats. Lavinia went above and beyond to make sure we still had an amazing experience. I HIGHLY recommend this experience and when I come back to Htown I will definitely be taking this experience again!

“I actually found Lavinia while searching for a house to host a small surprise party for my husband's birthday. I found the properties on Airbnb way too restrictive for the amount of money you're spending (i.e, no guests, no parties, no music, etc). Thankfully, I found Lavinia!!!!!! Right from the start, she understood the assignment! She started off by asking about our preferences but she also took the time to ask about my husband's likes so that she could make the experience extra special for him. My husband is a bougie foodie and it takes a lot to impress him and Lavinia exceeded HIS expectations. She's very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the history of sushi and really made the experience fun by allowing us to put our own twist on traditional rolls -- the crushed Doritos and flaming hot Cheetos were my personal favorite but I digress! All of her ingredients were super fresh and everything looked like a work of art. She even had homemade sauces, can you say super impressive!! We were allowed to listen to music (lol) and I really appreciated being able to BYOB! She had a banner for my husband that read 'Happy Birthday' which he wore with pride the whole evening. Lavinia truly makes you feel welcomed and like family right from the start! There was a possibility that I would have extra (unconfirmed) guests and without hesitation, she said we could add them on (at the same rate) at any time. Having a host that's flexible and accommodating really alleviates a lot of the stress of party planning because coordinating people's schedules is close to impossible let me tell you. However, this event made me look like a pro without any of the stress!!! Lavinia takes care of everything! The sushi is amazing, everything was so fresh and mouth-watering. We really enjoyed the downtown views from the rooftop towards the end of the night. Everything was just perfect, perfect, perfect! I highly recommend booking with Lavinia for girls' night, birthdays, date night, etc. You won't regret it, this is truly a 5-star experience! She is a local treasure and I can't wait to book again. I literally woke up dreaming about all the yummy sushi we ate and made, you have to try it for yourself because words cannot even BEGIN to describe how delicious everything is. Even her dog, Gouda, is awesome! I treated my girlfriend to this class for her birthday! Lavinia provided her with a sash and made the process super personalized by asking us ahead of time what our favorite rolls were. She was super knowledgeable about all aspects regarding the sushi making process; the rice, setup, protein selections, and proper techniques. I especially enjoyed the variety of ingredients she provided and the setup of the work space. There were 14 people in the class and everyone had ample room to walk around to the ingredient stations and come back to prepare their roll on a large island.
