  • Job Description

    LAV SUSHI- Summer CEO

*The role is based in Dallas but will work remotely from that location

    Job Description

We are a fast-growing experiential hospitality company focused on premium sushi experiences, bringing in-home and on-site sushi classes, private omakase, and catered events to life. We believe the best moments happen around food, and that hosting should feel effortless, elevated, and memorable.

Founded by an entrepreneur who has successfully launched and scaled the business across multiple cities, the company operates with a proven expansion playbook, strong operational discipline, and an obsessive focus on customer experience. Over the past four years, we’ve served more than 11,000 customers across the two cities we currently operate in, with consistent demand and strong repeat engagement.

We are an early-stage but operationally mature business with live markets, real revenue, and a clear path to scale. Geographic expansion is a core growth lever, and Dallas is the next major launch. This is not a passive, observational, or strategy-only internship.

We are looking for a high-agency, entrepreneurial Summer CEO to launch and run our Dallas market. This is a founder-delegated role with real ownership. You will work closely with both the Founder and the current General Manager in a highly autonomous environment. You should expect to wear many hats and be comfortable switching between high-level thinking and hands-on execution as needed. If you ever wanted to be an entrepreneur, this is your chance to try it out without the risk.

This role is not a typical 9–5. Hospitality is inherently dynamic, and your schedule will flex based on events, customer needs, and launch priorities. In return, you’ll have significant autonomy over how you structure your time, with a strong focus on outcomes rather than hours.

    What You Will Do

    General Management & Market Ownership

    • Own the Dallas market as a standalone business unit, with responsibility for launch execution, operating performance, and early revenue

    • Translate company-level strategy into market-specific priorities, weekly plans, and execution roadmaps

    • Make real-time operating decisions across people, pricing, scheduling, and customer experience in a live market environment

    Team Building & Operations

    • Build the Dallas team from the ground up, including recruiting, onboarding, and managing local operators

    • Design and execute operational workflows for scheduling, logistics, inventory, and event delivery in partnership with the General Manager

    Growth, Revenue & Partnerships

    • Drive early demand through outbound outreach, partnerships, and local relationship-building

    • Support corporate and private client acquisition efforts and convert early interest into bookings

    • Track market performance metrics and use data and customer feedback to refine execution

    Founder & GM Partnership

    • Work directly with the Founder on strategic direction, goal-setting, and market-level tradeoffs

    • Partner closely with the General Manager on operational best practices

    • Identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and continuously improve the expansion playbook for future markets

    • Deliver a structured end-of-summer handoff with recommendations, metrics, and next steps

    What We Are Looking For

    • MBA student (or equivalent background) with interest in entrepreneurship, general management, hospitality, or operations

    • Extremely high agency with a founder mindset and strong ownership mentality

    • Entrepreneurial, self-starting, and energized by building from the ground up

    • Comfortable wearing many hats and switching between strategy and execution

    • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, low-structure environment

    • Comfortable with a non-traditional schedule that flexes based on business needs

    • Strong executor who can manage people, priorities, and ambiguity simultaneously

    • Accountable for outcomes and willing to lean into discomfort when things get messy

    • You should probably like eating sushi and be excited about working in hospitality

    Nice to Have

    • Prior startup, operating, or P&L ownership experience

    • Experience launching new markets or building teams from scratch

    • Familiarity with Dallas or multi-city operations

    • Background in hospitality, events, marketplaces, or consumer services

    Compensation

    • Paid summer role

    • Performance-based upside tied to market launch milestones

    Why This Role Matters

This role directly determines how the company enters and succeeds in a new city. You will be responsible for turning a proven strategy into a live, revenue-generating market. Your decisions and execution will have immediate and visible impact on customers, team members, and the company’s growth trajectory.

    Why Join

    • CEO/GM-level ownership of a real market

    • Direct mentorship from both the Founder and an experienced General Manager

    • High autonomy, real accountability, minimal bureaucracy

    • Build from zero using a proven playbook—and improve it

    • Resume-defining responsibility and experience

    • Work in a business centered around great food and memorable experiences

    • Flexible schedule and hours

    How to Apply

    Submit the following:

    • Resume to lavinia@lavsushi.com

    • Short cover note explaining why you are interested in the role and might be a good fit. This is a small window where we get to see your personality. Don’t overwork it!
